St. Pete fishing report

St. Pete fishing has improved with the warm days we’ve been having lately. Fishing the docks we’ve caught a variety of redfish, snook, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, and flounder. Most of the time we’re using live shrimp pinned to a 2/0 or 3/0 circle hook or a live threadfin or scaled sardine. The live bait has been showing up better as we progress through the end of winter towards spring. The fish are sometimes picky on what they’ll eat at a given time so it’s seems to be best to be prepared for either. The biggest snook last week went 30 inches overall and the biggest redfish was at 29 inches. Spring is in my opinion the best time of the year so book your dates now. Don’t be left out.
