Tampa Bay fishing
Today was another great day of Tampa Bay fishing with some great people. The fishing started off a little difficult with the snook not wanting to eat in the first hole. We hit another couple locations with the same result. The next location payed off with one snook in the boat with another half dozen or so blasting the baits out of the water but never actually hooking up.
We tied on different hooks and nothing changed. We made a move to a mangrove island and looked for redfish. Unfortunately as we were approaching the island a mullet boat and a jetski (what a combo) buzzed the island within about 2 minutes of each other. I made an honest attempt at trying to find the school after this but they just hightailed it somewhere else. We moved on to another mangrove island and caught a couple of beautiful redfish with the first couple baits in the water. We moved to another island and caught one of the biggest trout of the season so far, a fat 28 incher! We moved on to another couple islands and caught more oversized redfish to finish up the day. It was windy for almost the entire day on the water but it didn’t seem to turn the fish off at all.
Tight lines!
