Tampa Fishing Report

Today down around the mouth of the bay we had an awesome bite. The redfish were tailing all over a flat that was about 18 inches deep and we had nice free lined shrimp to offer. We caught till’ I lost count. The seatrout were stacked in the potholes where they had no water around them to leave and we caught many seatrout up to around 25-26 inches. All using live shrimp and gulp artificials. The wind here in Tampa Bay was just enough to put a ripple on the water and keep the fish from knowing we were there. The key to todays fishing was also getting out of the boat and sneaking up on the fish in very shallow water. We wore chest waders allthough a set of old sneakers would have done just fine.

This winters flats fishing has been awesome so far. I’m looking forward to many more days like it in the coming months.
