Charter Fishing Tampa Florida
The recent cold front still had snook not wanting to cooperate for me. I saw the water temp start around 60 degrees and it changed 4or 5 degrees by the end of the day. Shallow dark bottom areas of Tampa Bay flats have warmer water than the deeper sandy bottom areas. Since the water was cold still and there wasn’t a lot of water on the flats yet I decided to hit the bridges for some food sheepshead action. After getting our fill of sheepshead the water around the islands was up high enough to target some redfish and trout. We got up close to one of the many islands in the St. Pete / Fort Desoto area and started sight casting to trout laid up next to the oyster bars that he biggest trout boated was right at 24 inches and the redfish were lower slot fish.
Some of the best months to be charter fishing Tampa Florida are ahead of us. Don’t miss out on some incredible Tampa Bay fishing action this spring!
Tight lines!
