Tampa flats fishing at it’s best

Fishing Tampa Bay has taken off lately with redfish showing in better numbers in the skinny water everyday. The snook are still a little shy with the cooler water temps but that’ll change soon. The seatrout are plentiful on darn near every grassflat that you find. Jigs/artificials are by far the most productive to fish these fish since you don’t need to keep going to the baitwell for another bait. You can catch several fish on the same jig over and over. I find that a very light jig head with a slower retrieve gets bit more often than burning it back to the boat to quickly. You’ll also do yourself a favor to keep some of the ladyfish that your sure to catch for when you’re looking for those redfish!
