Tampa Fishing Report
Where do I start? The fishing has been good everywhere we go. The redfishing around the new and full moon has been second to none. The snook fishing using big baits has been great as long as we hit that sweet spot in the tidal flow. The tarpon are at all the bridges and yesterday we had one eat a snapper bait right behind the boat (see the photo gallery for picture). Speaking of snapper, the bite has been unreal with a great percentage being keeper fish. I’ve not fished them yet but the big black drum are here and I’m looking forward to putting clients on some huge drum. The sharks fishing in Tampa Bay has been awesome lately. Put a dead bait out in the right area and it’ll take 15 minutes or less usually to have a tug of war on your hands. The mackerel fishing has been decent this year, not what it was last year but the fish we are seeing are very nice.
We’re still catching seatrout early and late in the day. The pompano are at all the structures and willing to eat if you’re putting jigs in the right places. I’m super excited about our fishing this year. I’ve had better fishing this year than in the past and I think regulations from the lawmakers are really making a difference. Call for the best tide dates for your fishing adventure!!
