Charter Fishing Tampa Bay

Seatrout fishing in Tampa Bay has been on fire with this strong south wind we’ve been having. Smaller trout have been on the deeper grass and easy to target using jigs worked slowly close to the bottom. The larger fish have been up in the shallows feeding in the same areas as the redfish. Free lining tail hooked shrimp, and cut bait have worked for me but I wouldn’t discount scaled sardines free lined in the same areas. The spanish mackerel are still all over the deeper grass flats that have plenty of water flowing buy. We’ve been fishing these fish and having occasional schools of bluefish and jack crevalle swim into the mix which keep it interesting. On my charter fishing trips in Tampa Bay I’m still hitting up the sheepshead that are everywhere you look this time of year. Shrimp on small circle hooks and barnacles get taken quickly and are easily attainable.
