Fishing Charters Tampa
We’re still catching plenty of fish on my fishing charters Tampa area. The fishing action was good while fishing Tampa Bay’s usual late fall and early winter places near structures and oyster bars and deep water grassflats. The baitfish are still easy to come by and all the fish are coming in on freelined scaled sardines with circle hooks or long shank hooks for the toothy critters. We’re catching snook at just about every place we stop at lately which is good because the population is recovering nicely after the kill that we had a couple years back. I’m also getting some decent trout off the deep grassflats that had moving water with most fish being in the slot. A lot of the flounder we’re catching are hanging in the same areas as the snook are.
If the wind is light this week I’m fishing the beaches for some of the bigger flounder that are on the hard bottom areas right now. Flounder aren’t something that I usually focus on but the fishing for them in the last couple years has just been getting better and better. Each year the fish are bigger and more numerous. With this awesome weather I expect the winter fishing to remain great.
Tight lines!
