Fishing St. Petersburg

Today we were fishing St. Petersburg and found beautiful redfish in shallows around oyster bars and also some keep trout to go with it. I used the push pole to get us in position as we were looking to move into the area without spooking the fish since there were already 2 other boats fishing that area that I could see and when they left they fired the outboard and got on plane right next to the islands. After seeing the fish and staking off the boat we used very light tackle and caught what we wanted until my clients said “lets go fish for something else”. So we left them biting!

We then moved to the pass and started fishing the with the current and pulled in some real nice spanish mackerel and kept some for the dinner table.
