St. Pete Beach fishing
Fishing is still strong with a great variety of fish. Mondays charter produced excellent action in the morning with spanish mackerel, bluefish, barracuda, and cobia. We had a few cobia come up in the chumline and hooked one small cobia (note the bent rod in the background) and kept him on in an attempt to keep the others around.
We caught one more that was slightly larger and then they vanished. We had a jumbo barracuda skyrocket a spanish a few feet from the side of the boat. Unfortunately the hook didn’t stick and he made off with his dinner. We tryed several other attempts at getting the fish to eat since he was hanging out under the boat but to no avail.
We turned the trip to inshore and caught more redfish than I could keep track of. The bite was incredible. We tried some snook territory and seen fish but they weren’t interested in our offerings. That’s snook sometimes. We moved on to where I’ve been catching some nice jack crevalle and pulled in a nice fish and broke off on many others and finished off the day. The days are getting warmer and the fishing is staying hot. Tarpon are showing in better #’s at the local bridges. Please feel free to call or email with any questions or to schedule your fishing trip. Thank you.
