Tampa Fishing Charters
Hope everyone is having a great 2019 so far. Winter is here and has been pretty mild so far. Our Tampa Fishing Charters have focused on mainly good eating fish like sheepshead, seatrout, and flounder. We’ll have an occasional redfish, snook, black drum thrown in to keep it interesting. I’m happy to report that the red tide has had little impact to the fishing we’re doing right now. I’ve been noticing better numbers of snook back in the residential canals right now than usual. They’re feeding on lipped lures, flies, and jigs worked thru the shadow lines of dock lights at night. The seatrout have been eating artificial jigs so easily there hasn’t been as much reason to use shrimp for them. The shrimp I save for pitching around and under docks and around bridges for a combination of sheepshead, redfish, and black drum. Sometimes a bluefish or ladyfish will come in and crash the party. Redfish can be found up in extremely shallow flats on mean low tides.
Tampa Fishing Charters in the spring time are usually non stop full of action. I liken it to “shooting fish in a barrel” and a lot of fun whether you’re a seasoned angler or a child just getting into fishing. If you intend on charter fishing Tampa Bay area please be sure to book your guide in advance to get the dates you prefer. Most full time guides in the area will be booked up and it can be difficult to find an opening at times. If you have any questions about the fishing or would like to schedule your trip please don’t hesitate to call, text, or email. Text is also the quickest method by far to get answer to your questions.
Tight lines!
